I have been a student and practitioner of Zen Buddhism the past ten years. In 2016, I received Jukai (Precepts) from Tenshin Roshi Fletcher and received the Dharma name 'Esho', meaning 'wisdom blossoming'. I continue to practice Zen within the White Plum Asanga lineage and am a member of Zen Peacemakers International.  I am currently undertaking a two-year Buddhist Chaplaincy training with Roshi Joan Halifax and faculty at Upaya Zen Center.

The practice of meditation extends back thousands of years. It is a simple practice of cultivating present moment awareness of one’s experience as it unfolds, moment by moment, through both formal meditation practices and informal every day activities. Its popularity has surged in recent years. This is due to the encouraging research which has emerged indicating that those with a regular meditation practice tend to live with a greater sense of wellbeing, joy and connectivity - to themselves and others - as well as reduced stress and anxiety. It is however, also a practice and sensibility for individuals to discover and explore for themselves. Through practice, we open ourselves to the unique experience of how meditation might enrich our lives. Having trained as a meditation teacher with Zenways, under the tuiton and guidance of Daizan Roshi Skinner, on occasion I offer group courses and workshops which introduce participants to meditation practice and support them in developing and sustaining a regular practice within often busy lives. You are welcome to contact me for further information.
